The Post-Soviet Territory
After France and Italy, the USSR took the third place on wine manufacture. Grapes grew up everywhere where it was possible, but its qualitative characteristics did not improve. Drinks with the raised maintenance of alcohol and sugar were issued, but in the mid-eighties this process was considerably is limited by antialcoholic campaign. As a result, the considerable part of vineyards has been destroyed. From all weight wine regions Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, the truth and to this day quality of wines made there were allocated does not reach the European level. Quality is influenced strongly by use of the Soviet technologies. First, this multiphasic manufacture when each subsequent stage of technological process carries out a new economy, secondly, application of pasteurisation which gives fault stability, but does its dead.
The pursuit of an exit on foreign markets forces the countries to improve quality of made production, to reform the winemaking industry, but this process is extremely combined.
