Colour

First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to colour of a drink or as tasters speak, a dress. At each mark the colour which in own way plays. Good wine should be transparent and pure, not have a deposit and muddity. To estimate colour of white grades it is possible on a snow-white background, having discharged a glass of itself on some distance. For example, to bring to a sleeve of a white shirt or to put on a table laid by a cloth. The glass with red wine is required to be brought to a light source - to a window, the lighted lamp, a burning candle. Colour of wine can specify in its age which, in turn, helps to define flavouring qualities. Red wine in the course of time brightens, gets a brownish-red shade, and white, on the contrary, darkens. Among colours of white wines distinguish light and dark shades:

- light - almost colourless have sourish smack and are usually made in areas with a cool climate, greenish - more tart, and yellow have soft taste;

- Dark colours distinguish sweet wines or the grades made of well ripened or overripe grapes, long time sustained in flanks. Drinks of golden, honey, amber shades concern them.

For young red wines the palette from pink to purple is characteristic, more sustained have an is dense-red, ruby-red, garnet, blue-red or red-black dress. Depth of colour speaks about quantity of containing tannins which give fault tartness of taste.

The range of pink wines differs from light pink to light-red.
