Burgundian Wines

Burgundy is in the northeast of France and is the region-manufacturer of wine second for the importance. By quantity of let out production the Burgundian volumes make a quarter from Bordo's. Area Chablis is well-known for the white wines. Present Shabli absolutely dry, fresh, rigid, firm. Even the most simple wine from this region should be maintained not less than two years because of its aggression, severity on taste. Wines of Shabli of class Grand Cru are made on a slope located to the north from the city of Shabli. On it seven sites-manufacturers. To them seriously concede on quality drinks of category Premier Cru. Practically all the rest in this region wine is called simply as Shabli, however in cold years wine can turn out very rough and sharp.


Area Cote d’Or shares on two parts Cote de Nuits in the north and Cote de Bon in the south. The main vineyard of the north – Gevrey-Chambertin makes glory of Burgundy. There grapes for drinks Grand Cru and Premier Cru are grown up. In the south are made not only red, but also the white wines most known from which make of the grapes growing on sites Puligny-Montrachet. Near to them there are plantations Chassagne-Montrachet where also make excellent white wine of category Grand Cru. In both economy make red wine, but only in Chassagne-Montrachet it reaches qualifications Premier Cru. In spite of the fact that area Beaujolais is included in territory of Burgundy, it quite often consider as separate wine-make region. The holiday of wine Beaujolais Nouveau is marked in many countries. On the third Thursday of November young Beaujolais is delivered in shops, and in its remote cities deliver specially that wine has appeared on counters everywhere in one day. On quality and, accordingly, the price of wine of Beaujolais divide into three categories. At the top step of qualification are Cru du Beaujolais which is made in ten villages from the grapes collected on the best slopes. Fault of category Cru should not be cooled excessively – in the best way they reveal at temperature 16°C. Fault Beaujolais-Villages is slightly easier than drinks of class Cru, some of them even are exposed in sale as Beaujolais Nouveau. Drinks of category Beaujolais and Beaujolais Superier are produced in the villages which are in the south of region of Beaujolais. Here the most part of young Beaujolais is made. Almost all wine of area of Beaujolais is on sale large trading houses-companies among which the most known is Georges Doboeuf, "king Bozhole".
